Backword
This is unlikely to be interesting to many people and I hope that not too many people will read it. I wrote it mainly as a record of my seventy or so years on this planet, hoping that, maybe, it would be of some interest to my children to browse through a little of what their father was doing while he was constantly traveling around the world.
It is a story of some great American engineering companies which attained global prominence and then faded away as a result of internal or governmental actions. Nothing remains of the originals but their technological legacies passed to their licensees and successors.
My Reminiscences focus on my career as a student, an apprentice, an engineer, a salesman, a manager, an executive and finally as a free man, able to spend all his time with his partner and friend of many years, to enjoy the tranquillity of living in a small village in the middle of Europe doing some woodworking, helping in the garden, a little cooking and house cleaning for half the year and the balance in warm and mostly sunny Florida near our family.
Many of the pictures have been pulled from the internet and may or may not be copyrighted. I don’t know. If they are and I should not be using them on even such a small scale, let me know and I will remove them. Sorry!
