Houbovnik - a rich mushroom appetizer or side
Ingredients
60 g dried mushrooms
4 hard rohliks or equivalent
Handful of cream of wheat
Milk to soak rohliks
4 cloves crushed garlic
Crushed caraway seed
Salt
Onion finely chopped
4 eggs
Bacon fat
Preparation
Soak mushrooms over night and cook next day in same water.
Grate mushrooms in food processor. Soak rohliks in little bit of milk
Put mushrooms with the water, rohliks in milk, crushed garlic, onions, pepper, salt and caraway seed, cream of wheat, 4 beaten eggs. Make moist dough. Make dripping hot in dish. Pour dough into dripping. Preheat oven to 180ºC and bake for 45 minutes or until stick comes out dry.
