Savory Onion Pie
Savory Onion Pie Recreated by ZPA 03/14/2017
9" pie crust
4 onions, very finely sliced (mandolin?) or chopped
1 tbl oil
3 tbls butter
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 tbls flour
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 oz grated Swiss cheese
3 tsp finely chopped sage
2 tsp finely chopped thyme
Preheat oven to 375°F. Pre-bake pastry.
Sauté onions in oil and butter. In a bowl beat eggs, sour cream, flour, salt, pepper, sage and thyme. Mix in the onions and half the cheese. Pour into pastry shell and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until filling is set.
Delicious hot or cold...
